To my friend, Rod. I will miss you so much. I will our phone calls. You are the most thoughtful person that I have ever met. The kids in Syracuse will miss getting quarters from their "Grandpa Rod" at the Syracuse baseball games. You treated my girls with such kindness and love. There will always be a special place for you in my heart. You are the apple of Ben's eye. We are all better people for knowing Rod Steele. May God Bless Rod's family.

What struck me about Rod was that he was genuinely interested in people. He could strike up a conversation with a stranger on the street, and 10 minutes later they were friends. His friendliness was never fake. He was the real deal. We will miss him. Our prayers are with Vickie and the Steele family.

Vickie and the boys and their families...my prayers are with you at this time, Rod always treated me with respect and love that it was not hard to feel the same way back to him. Always so proud of those sons of his, anytime I saw him he would always brag about all the wonderful things you were doing. And when ever I would see him at the pool he would always show off one of the grandchildren. What a wonderful man that was such a joy to know. Hopefully I will see you all over the next few days, if not, again he and all of you are in my prayers. God Bless, Mr. Wirth (Carl)

To Rod's family: Although we will miss Rod a great deal, he will be looking down upon each and everyone of you, guiding you through your days. He was your family leader here on earth and now God has chosen a special angel to watch over all of you. He was a good husband, father, brother, son and grandpa. Rod we love you and miss you very much. Your sister, Doreen
