Prayers & deepest sympathy to the Bacon family in their loss of their loved one. I was proud to have served with you, my friend, in Vietnam in 1969-1970. We had a lot of close-calls together, in 1/77th Field Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division. I was so glad to get to re-unite with you twice since Vietnam. The last time we played the Ashland Golf course, and I really enjoyed it. Here's to the 19th Hole buddy, and I'll never forget you Ron. Rest in Peace brother-in-arms!

My condolences for the family just want to say that I absolutely loved the time I got to spend and work for him. We had a special bond me being former Santa Fe and most people that knew him knew his dislike for " the other road" at merger . Worked under him as Roadmaster and was rough going at first but didn´t take long to know he was there to give you the help you needed to maintain your territory and form a great friendship. He will be missed dearly by those new him !! A great man !

Ron was a great leader, it takes great leaders to make a railroad like BNSF to run and to keep running, Ron will always be remembered as the DE from Nebraska. I had the pleasure of knowing Ron for 49 years. He will truly be missed. I also served with the 1st Air Cav in Vietnam
