Russell Kennedy Obituary

KENNEDY-Russell P., Jr. Col. USAF (ret), age 79, Midway, AR. Passed away Monday, September 8, 2008 in Midway. He was born Thursday, July 4, 1929 in Statesville, NC, the son of Russell Parker and Emo Vickes Kennedy, Sr. He married Nancy Drum on October 21, 1950 at Statesville, NC. Col. Kennedy served honorably in the U.S. Air Force 36 years and was Director of Missile Maintance, Headquarters, SAC when he retired in 1983. He lived in Lakeview and Midway since 1996 moving from Bellevue, NE. Survived by 4 sons, Russell (Val) Kennedy, III of Nampa, ID, Bill (April) Kennedy of Archdale, NC, Michael Kennedy of Mountain Home, AR and Dean (Renee) Kennedy of Trinity, NC; daughter, Diane Kennedy Ullrich of Omaha; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grand-children; 1 great-great grandchild and special friend of the family, Carly Crim. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Kennedy, parents and 1 sister. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas with Russell Kennedy IV, Christopher Kennedy, David Ullrich, Kyle Kennedy, Chance Kennedy, Dylan Kennedy, Aaron Kennedy as pallbearers and Caleb Kennedy, Cody Kirby, Joseph Kennedy and Lucas Kennedy as honorary pallbearers.
FUNERAL SERVICES 11am Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Mountain Home Baptist Church, with Brother Tommy Cunningham, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Mountain Home Baptist Church "Miracle on the Mountain" building Fund or Gideons of Mountain Home. Kirby and Family Funeral
