Ruth Martis Obituary
Ruth dedicated 25 years of her professional life to Shopko. Beyond her career, Ruth had a passion for baking cakes, sewing, gardening, cooking, and reading. Her skills in the kitchen brought joy to many family gatherings, where her homemade treats were eagerly anticipated and shared. She was also an active member of her church community, finding strength and purpose in her faith.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Charles Martis Jr., and their children: Charles Martis III, Jonathan Martis, Jeffery Martis, and Jackson Martis (Tricia). She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Kenyon Martis, Morgan Hruska-Martis, Nicholas Shipley, Grace Martis, Gabe Martis, and Kallee Martis. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Nancy Turner (Bill).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, 2650 Farnam St, Omaha, NE 68131. A lunch will follow the service, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather and remember Ruth's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Kountze Food Pantry, in honor of Ruth's commitment to helping those in need.

Ruth will be missed by many. She was always been so kind to my family. We may have lost touch though the years but I have always thought kindly of her. My deepest condolences to the family.
