Dr. Samar "Sam" Kumar Ray passed away at the age of 79. He was a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, graduating with his MBBS and two fellowships under the Royal College of Surgeons in England and Scotland, and practiced medicine for over 40 years. He was employed with National Health Service in the UK, Methodist Health system, University of Nebraska Medical Center, and Ortho-Nebraska. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Suchandra Ray, daughters Tina Ray and Gina Ray Hawley, son-in-laws Christopher Hawley and Ezana Beyenne, and grandchildren Kiran Patrick and Anya Ray Hawley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to Omaha Public Library Foundation. Private services will be held. For more details and livestream of service visit www.bramanmortuary.com
