Sharon Meegan

Sharon Meegan (née Ohler), age 84, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska-the city where she was born and spent her life.

Born on February 9, 1941, Sharon graduated from Omaha Technical High School, where she was a member of the marching band. Her lifelong connection to her hometown remained a meaningful part of her identity.

Sharon was a devoted mother to three children: David Meegan and his wife Shanna, Steve Meegan and his wife Barb, and Laurie Neary and her husband Matt. She found great joy in her role as grandmother to Chelsea Meegan (Michael), David Meegan, LaToshia Heng (Daniel), Felishia Clapper (Austin), Nathaniel Meegan, Colin Neary (Vayda), Katie Trammell (Austin), McKenzie Meegan, and Ryan Meegan (Sushi); and great-grandmother to Oliver, Jakobi, Charlotte, Venetta, Leo, and Bennett. She is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

A cherished friendship with Suzi Nielsen brought Sharon enduring companionship over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Lawrence Meegan; her father, Richard Ohler; her brothers, Richard Ohler and John Ohler; and her sister, Nancy Immeke.

In earlier years, Sharon enjoyed playing tennis and racquetball. Later in life, she found true joy in taking care of her family, peace in reading, and long walks that offered quiet reflection and a sense of connection with the world around her.

Sharon also loved attending several different churches in Omaha and passionately shared about her relationship with the Lord with others.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
