To Shelly's family,
While we can't say we knew Shelly well personally, over the years, we've heard countless stories about what a wonderful family-man and patriarch he was to all of you. We know he will be greatly missed, but his big heart and twinkling smile will live on in the examples and lessons he shared. May his memory be a blessing.

Jan and family,
Last night I opened my home e-mail (finally, for the week) and saw the note from our Omaha friend about your Shelly. I am so sorry for the loss to you, Jan, and all of your families -- and to the many friends and business people Shelly met in his 81 years.
When we got together for dinner a few months ago, his mind was still sharp and his memory was still good. And it was a pleasure and my great memory to see his ever-smiling face.
Whenever my sisters (Myra and Louise) and I talked about a family reunion on Baubie's side of the family (all the Lasserwitz/ Lazerowitz/ Lasserowitz/ Lasser/ Lasers), Mom (Rina, who passed away just a couple off weeks ago) would say we should have it in Omaha to be with Jan and Shelly and Midge and Phil's family, who we saw so seldom.
You are in our thoughts.

Dear Janice and Family,
I was so sad when I heard that Shelly had passed away. From the time my niece Barbara met and married Tom, I felt like Jan and Shelly, as well as the entire Harris family, were family to us. You are all such special people and Shelly was a prince of a man in so many ways. He will be greatly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
with love,
Rosie Hyman

They do not make men much better than Shelly Harris. I am very proud to say I knew him. He was always excited to see me or any of Jim's other less-than-virtuous friends. He lived a great life and left a long line of family members -- many of whom I am happy to call friends. May we all leave a void in the lives of those we touch the size of which I feel today.

Jim and Family
I was so sad to learn of Shelly's passing this morning. I had the the highest respect for him, as a businessman, human being, attorney and as a friend.
I always enjoyed working with him in Banking matters and legal matters. He was a true professional, with enormous patience, and integrity.
I hope now that he and my Dad can maybe share some old times when they see each other again....I miss them both. Those shoes will be empty.
