Stephen Pokorski Obituary

Pokorski, Stephen Lee

April 1, 1940 - February 2, 2021

Stephen Lee Pokorski age 80 of Blue Eye, MO passed away on February 2, 2021 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO.

He was born on April 1, 1940 in Omaha, NE the son of Leo and Ann Grigaitis Pokorski. He was a retired machinist with Western Electric. He had been a resident of Blue Eye, MO since 1999 moving here from Omaha, NE. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Omaha, NE and was also a member of the Husker Bass Club in Omaha, NE.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley Pokorski of the home in Blue Eye, MO; one son, David Pokorski of Dallas, TX; a sister, Judy Zikas of Omaha, NE; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Debbie Pokorski; and a brother, Jim Pokorski.

Steve Pokorski was a loving and supportive father (David) father-in-law (Katie) and husband to (Shirley). He was loved by his granddaughters Hadyn and Haley. They had the best times together (fishing, boating, and all of the wonderful golf cart rides around Twin Island Estates). He will be missed by his close friends and his nieces and nephews and his little sister (Judy) and his sister-in-law (Karen).

He had many adventures and wonderful times traveling with Shirley and the love you two had was special and it hurts to see that end, but you two will see each other again. He was a huge Nebraska fan and loved to watch the Huskers!

May you rest in peace, Dad! I had you for 53 years and now you can spend time with Debbie. I love you and I'm glad I had a chance to say good bye and I'll see you again someday.

Many good memories for several years with friend and neighbor, Steve P. He was a kind, fun, gentle, hard working, great fisherman, and lovely person. Wish it had not been his time to leave us. Hate COVID.

RIP cousin Stephen. I can't believe we never met. I loved your mother and father and loved when they came to visit us in Los Angeles. Condolences to the Pokorski family. (You looked just like Grandpa Pokorski).

Loved this guy. He will be so missed. So happy we have good memories of fishing, fish dinners and he fried the fish! Good times as Winter Texans. Great card player. Great grandpa; loved seeing him with his granddaughters driving the golf cart around Twin Island Estates. Steve was so caring and loved the home in TIE, the Lake, his many friends and neighbors, the shows in Branson, good restaurants, and of course; his wife, Shirley.
