Tom has been an ever present point of light in my life since my early teens. Though he struggled mightily in the early years I am glad I was able to see him come through it all and become the gracious, loving, committed husband and father we all looked up to. Jennie and Patricia; I'm glad I got to meet you and share in your good fortune to be a part of Tom's life. He will be missed.

Tom and I were roommates during our Lieutenant days in the Air Force in Cheyenne. He was a great friend with a genuine faith, a great sense of humor and was an outstanding cook. He was one of my groomsmen at my wedding 30 years ago. I will always remember him, and look forward to seeing him in heaven.

Tom was such a committed man, committed to his family, his faith, his church and his students and his country. He fought the good fight. His determination to continue to teach up until just two weeks before the semester was over is a testament to his desire to serve, mentor, teach and face each day with courage. Our prayers for the family are with you. May God’s Grace and Peace carry you through this time of saddness, Pastor Gary Armour and your Countryside Family in Mission, Kansas

I will truly miss Tom. My faculty office, at Metroplitan Community College, was across from Tom, so we had many days of laughter and fun. Tom was always upbeat and smiled everyday, never complaining, despite his illness. I will always remember Tom as a caring and strong person. My prayers are with his wife Jennie and daughter, Patricia, as you celebrate Tom's life.

I am so honored to have known Tom. I will never forget the dinner that "Peaches" created for Jennie and I - so thorough and always a dry sense of humor. Thinking of Jennie and Patricia at this very difficult time.

The faculty at Metropolitan Community College have lost a great friend and colleague. During his illness he never complained and contributed to the college till the very end. I have never met a more brave and honest person. I will really miss Tom.
