Tony Dusatko Obituary

Tony Dusatko

March 24, 1945 - September 13, 2024

Alan Anthony Dusatko, known affectionately as Tony, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024. Born on March 24, 1945, to Ann K. Pedersen Dusatko and Alan A. Dusatko in Columbus, Nebraska. Tony lived a life marked by love, generosity, and a passion for helping others.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ann and Alan, and nephew Max Dusatko.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jo Dusatko; son Adam and his wife, Amye; granddaughter Kaylee; grandson Arie; and sisters Patricia Dusatko and Ann Marie Whitten, along with many other extended family members and friends who cherished him deeply.

Tony met the love of his life while they attended college, marrying Jo on August 5, 1967, in Lytton Iowa. His warm spirit and ability to connect with anyone made him a beloved figure; to know him was to love him.

Tony began his career as an English teacher at Omaha South High School, where he led the Drama Department and produced notable productions such as Fiddler on the Roof and Cactus Flower. However, he discovered his true passion in sales. In 1974, he joined IBM, before later moving to Compugraphics and ultimately enjoying a successful 30-year tenure with Agfa, earning numerous awards, including many Presidential award. After retiring, his love for work led him to Kodak, where he dedicated another 17 years on the west coast.

A proud Shriner and Masonic, Tony was known for his selflessness, contributing to many organizations, most notably Alcoholics Anonymous, where his influence undoubtedly touched countless lives. He had a deep appreciation for classic cars and motorcycle rides and loved God, his family, and the Huskers (GBR)!

Tony never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

VISITATION: Sept. 24th, beginning at 6 to 8 p.m., MEMORIAL SERVICE: Sept 25th at 11 a.m., at Covenant Presbytrian Church, 15002 Blondo St.

Jo and Family,
I am without adequate words!
Tony left a lasting mark on my life and heart. Tony was a leading (if not THE player) player in turning my life around and realizing the gift of sobriety! Many, many times I´ve turned to his sage no-nonsense words from the past to recenter.
He truly was a gift to us and this old goat! I am forever grateful for him.
Our world was blessed to have him!
I assume I was only one of many that he helped guide!
God Bless

Had the pleasure of being in his Drama class. He helped me to bring out my comedic and acting talents . We would make tv shows and commercials in class and we laughed so hard many time together. He was one of a kind and I´m glad our paths crossed early in my life. I will always cherish time spent in class.

Tony was a good friend of mine for more than 50 years. We shared a love of outdoor Nebraska and spent many a day hunting pheasants or fishing in northeast Nebraska. I always considered him as someone who might have been born 120 years too late as he would have excelled as a mountain man in 1825 America. Whenever our paths crossed in recent decades, we were able to pick up as if we had last seen each other the day before.

Patti and I offer condolences and prayers to his wife, our good friend Jo, as well as all family members.
