April 13, 1941 - May 17, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Verlyn L. Olsberg, age 83, of Waterloo, NE. We will find comfort in memories shared, stories told and love never forgotten.
Verlyn is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Leah Olsberg; brother, Galen; infant sister, Janice. He is survived by loving wife, Cindy, Stepsons; Todd (Deanna), Troy (April) Perchal, grandchildren; Chase, Abby, Blake and Kaylee Perchal; sisters, Laurie (Ron) Shields, Vonnie Barglof; sisters-in-law, Joan Lebbert and Lucy Olsberg; his loving fur baby, Lexi; his children, Wendie (Brian), Corey, Vickie (son Brian); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
VISITATION: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Reichmuth Funeral Home, followed by a short SERVICE at 11:30. Luncheon to follow service. PRIVATE FAMILY BURIAL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society.

I am very happy to have shared a little time with Verlyn over the past 25 years when I visited Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa We connected in 1999 at a family reunion where we learned we were cousins.
May you Rest In Peace Dear Cousin. You will be sorely missed and often thought of. You were adored and loved by many !

Mercy me, my favorite little brother! How I shall miss him. All the wonderful childhood memories then as he was older and was always there when I needed him or just needed someone to talk to! How hard this is but he is now out of the horrible pain and God will care for him! Goodbye my wonderful brother! Sister Vonnie

You know there are a handful of people you meet in your entire life that you realize are true renaissance people and the salt of the earth. Verlyn was definitely one of them. He could come across as gruff, but that was possibly a façade as the Verlyn I knew was always willing to lend a helping hand. Verlyn was truly one you could count on... I met him roughly 5 years ago when we moved to Venice Woods and the lifelong stories he shared with me will never be forgotten. We enjoyed a couple of great lunches together over this past year and he will be greatly missed...Thoughts and prayers to his entire family. Tom Dvorak
