I worked with Walt for several years and formed a special bond with him. He had a passion for reading and would sometimes ask me to drop him off at the African American Book Store so he could search the shelves for a hidden treasure. Walt had a great sense of humor and was such a kind man. He often volunteered to help his elderly neighbors with household tasks like taking out their trash when the weather was bad so they wouldn't risk a fall. Walt loved learning about Asian culture and most of his decor was based on that. He would walk miles to the Asian Market to purchase fresh fish and produce and the clerks there often recognized him. I only recently learned of Walt's passing but I will surely miss him. He was a gentle soul.
