Baker Post Obituary

CANASTOTA - Baker J. Post, 91, of 3028 Seneca Turnpike, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at the Chittenango Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on June 25, 1921, in Fayetteville, a son of John "Marty" and Nellie Baker Post (Yorton.)
Baker lived in the Canastota area most of his life.
He worked for Precision Die Casting and Accurate Die Casting in Fayetteville for 44 years, retiring in 1983. He also owned and operated Post's Photography Studio in Canastota for 40 years.
Baker was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas with the U. S. Army Air Force.
He enjoyed photography, woodworking, camping and spending time with his family.
Baker married Shirley A. Gustin on Dec. 21, 1941, in Canastota.
Surviving besides his wife, Shirley, are a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lori Post of Canastota; two daughters, Dawn Post, and Sharon and Thomas Skinner, all of Canastota; five grandchildren, Michele and Richard Browell, Michael and Amanda Funari, Toby Klish, Kyle Post, and Beth and Greg Painter; ten great-grandchildren, Lucretia Funari, Mackenzie Funari, Mickelle Funari, Jessica Hofmeister, Zachary Funari, Nevaeh Whipple, LaVella Whipple, Cara Klish, Tyler Twiss, and Austin Klish; one great-great-granddaughter, Kenzlie; several nieces and nephews, including Edith and Charles Utz. Baker was predeceased by a grandson, John T. Post, and a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Olgie Post.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., Canastota. The Rev. Mick Keville, Pastor of Crossroads Community Church, North Chittenango, will officiate. Burial will be in Lenox Rural Cemetery, Canastota. Calling hours will be held Saturday (tomorrow), from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 201 James St., Canastota. In his memory, contributions may be made to Greater Lenox Ambulance Service, Inc., P.O. Box 382, Canastota, N.Y. 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
