Cheryl B. Roth, 77, of Canastota, NY; sadly, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Sunse Nursing Home in Boonville, NY. She was born on May 12, 1945, in Gouverneur, NY to the late Robert and Abigail Wainwright Barney.After graduating from Hammond High School, Cheryl spent many years happily raising her family in Canastota. She later attended nursing school at Oneida-Madison County BOCES. Her passion for taking care of others brought her to work at both Stonehedge Health and Rehab Center in Chittenango, NY and Sunnyside Nursing Home in Minoa, NY.In her younger years she worked as an Avon representative and did so for 10 years. She was an avid bowler at Gene's Bowling Center in Sylvan Beach, NY. Cheryl loved going to craft fairs, trips and bingo with the seniors and cheering on her favorite NASCAR drivers. Travel and cruising with her friends and family were some of her most joyous times and she was always ready to pack her bag for the next trip no matter where it took her.But Cheryl's favorite times was spent with her children and grandchildren, whether a birthday, holiday or just visiting. She never missed her annual family trip to Chippewa Creek at the Barney farm in Hammond, NY.She was a member of the Whitelaw Presbyterian Church. She is pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, David E. Stevens; her second husband, Theodore Roth; stepmother Lillian Hammond Barney, along with three grandchildren at birth.Cheryl is survived by her five children: David (Lori) Stevens, of Ellington CT, Thomas (Melissa) Stevens, of Blossvale, NY, James (Teresa) Stevens, of Kasoag Lake, NY, Jolaine Stevens Nell of Verona, NY and Scott (Laura) Roth of Williamstown, NY; two step-daughters, Robin (Ron Witty) Clemons and Shari (Ed) Smith; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; along with her three brothers, Victor Smithers, of Florida, Michael (Marlene) Webster of Florida and Vernon (Marty) Barney of Hammond, NY.Cheryl also leaves many special friends and will always be remembered for her extraordinary kindness, patience, and incredible compassion for all who knew her.Funeral Services will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 12 ' 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
