MORRISVILLE >> Delena R. Boyd, 100, formerly of Houston, Texas, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville,

She was born June 22, 1916 in Memphis, Tenn., a daughter of Joseph Lewis and Ida Bain Robbins. She married Boyce Williams in 1937 who predeceased her in 1943. She married Billy L. Boyd in 1952. He predeceased her in 1965. Delena had lived in Arkansas for a time, moving to Houston, Texas where she worked for the Gulf Oil Co. until retiring. She enjoyed several hobbies including sewing clothing, gardening, needlepoint and cross stitch.

Delena was a member of the United Church of Christ in Houston and Arkansas. She was also a member of the Bayland Community Center in Houston where she was instrumental in organizing blood drives and events for the seniors.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and William Beach Jr. of Bouckville; grandchildren, Jeffrey Carpenter of Bouckville, Elizabeth Tuttle of New York City, Laura Carpenter and her partner, Rhonda Pretlow of New York City, Sara (Michael) Schmitt of Bridgeport; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Fu) Tain of Boston, Mass., Megan Tuttle of New York City, Maxx Simon of Bouckville; sisters, Irene McLeod of Florida and Rachel Foreman of Arkansas. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Lloyd W. Carpenter; grandson-in-law, Mark Tuttle; sisters, Lorena Rees and Louise Austin; and a brother, J.L. Robbins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, N.Y.

Interment will be in the Madison Village Cemetery in the spring.

Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
