Diana Seifert Obituary
She was born on Sept. 27, 1948 in Oneida, N.Y. a daughter of Robert F. and Beverley F. (Champney) Mackey and was a 1966 graduate of V.V.S. Central School.
On June 27, 1970 Diana and C. George Seifert were united in marriage in Oneida, N.Y. and have shared a loving union of over forty-two years together.
For the past twenty-five years Diana has opened her home, mind and loving heart and spirit to over fifty-five foster children and has baby sat an uncountable number of children in her life. That selfless life was her passion, her life and her way.
She was a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Verona VFW Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, George; children, Dava, Sonya (Robert Lydford), Chad, Erick, Brandon, Emily and Mariah; her mother, Beverley Mackey; grandchildren, Phillip, Andre', Michael, Heather, Marcel, Denise, Daisy, Nikki, Alice, Zack, Rita, Mark and Mateo Lydford, Vito, Damien and Jevon Ceraulo and Aszaria Cooper; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Nadine Daniszewski and Christine (Steve) Tersten; several aunts and uncles, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends with special mention of Joe Schofield.
Diana was predeceased by two sons, Robert and Keven and her father, Robert.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at the Vernon United Methodist Church, W. Seneca Street, Vernon. A memorial funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church immediately following the calling hour with Rev. Diane Woodworthwright officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., Vernon, NY.
