1932 - 2019

ONEIDA- Elizabeth Robert (Obomsawin), of the Oneida Nation Territory, was born on the Traditional Onondaga homelands in upstate New York on July 12, 1932. She passed peacefully to her rest on the Oneida Nation Territory that she loved so much on July 3, 2019 just days before her 87th birthday. Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband of 67 years Raymond Robert (Obomsawin). She is survived by her sons Raymondand Jules, daughter Elizabeth Anne, and pre-deceased by her daughter Marion. She is also survived by her sister Ramona, and predeceased by her identical twin Maisie Schenandoah, and her other siblings Virginia, Florence, Mamie, Gloria, Sam, William, Marion and Betty. Elizabeth’s grandchildren are Adam, Berkeley, James, Jarred, Jasson, Melissa, Sunbeam, Sundown, Sunrise, and Tammy. She also has 25 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grand-children, and countless nephews and nieces.The calling hours will be from 1 to 2:30 PM on Tuesday July 9, the services to begin at 2:30 at New Hope Christian Community Church, 1904 West Road, Oneida, New York. The funeral party will proceed to the burial site, followed by a potluck meal at the Cookhouse on the Oneida Nation Territory. Flowers can be sent to the New Hope Christian Community Church on the morning of July 9 and condolence cards sent to 34 Territory Road, Oneida, New York 13421.
