Helen Bryden Obituary
She married Paul F. Bryden in 1943 and lived in Rome where they spent the next 49 years together until his death in 1992. Helen graduated from Oneida High School. She worked at Griffiss AFB, Rome Free Academy and BOCES. Helen was a very creative artist, homemaker and gardener, always trying to improve her surroundings. As a member of McConnellsville Golf Club, she was also a very competent golfer during her over 50 years of play.
She is survived by a daughter, Gail Zegarelli of Utica; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sharon Bryden of Binghamton and David and Maryann Bryden of Branchburg, N.J.; six grandchildren, Gregory Bryden, Geoffrey Bryden and wife Jean, Koryn Zegarelli, Kimberly, Kelly and Kaitlin Bryden; and two great-grandchildren, Mia Elizabeth Bryden and Marc Zegarelli.
Her family is indebted to the Carmelite sisters and especially the staff on the fourth floor of St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Utica for their exceptional care over the past five years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Nursing Home Chapel, 2535 Genesee St. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Please consider donations to the St Joseph Nursing Home Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut St.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Hellen was a great part of my mothers family. They enjoyed many good times together. My mother Pat Stewart died on Aug 31st she was the last one of the Watkins. Now they can have more times in Heaven.
