Jessica Wingate Obituary
She was born on Nov. 15, 1987 in Hillsdale, Mich., the daughter of Todd and Stephanie Weidner Wingate. Raised in Indiana before moving to Earlville, she was a graduate of West View Jr.-Sr. High School in Topeka, Ind. Jessica was a waitress at the Knotty Pine Diner in Wampsville and had previously worked at Denny's Restaurant in Oneida. She had an infectious smile, an engaging personality and loved camping and music.
Surviving are her mother and step-father, Stephanie and William Lipsey of Earlville; father and step-mother, Todd Wingate and Karen Wingate, both of Hillsdale, Mich.; brother, Dyrek Wingate of Hillsdale, Mich.; maternal grandparents, Margaret Grant of Hillsdale, Mich.; Samuel Weidner, Sr. of Lewistown, Mont.; maternal step-grandmother, Barbara Weidner of Elkhart, Ind.; paternal grandparents, Glenn and Jane Wingate and Margaret Carlisle, all of Hillsdale, Mich.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 from the Park United Methodist Church, 17 Broad St., Hamilton, NY. Burial will be private at the convenience of her family. Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. To send a condolence, or sign the Book of Memories online, go to:

Jessica, I never got to meet you as an adult but I know am your beauiful mom's cousin. If you were anything like her, you had the most infectious laugh, loved life, very kind and unforgetable. I know how much your mom loved you and now you are her special angel watching over her.

I didn't know you Jess as well as others, but I knew you enough to know that you were an amazing girl. You were very high spirited and fun loving, you always kept a smile on your face as well as everyone around you. It's very sad to see someone so young taken away from their friends and family. Steph, I think of you every morning and every night. I wish I could take away your pain but only god can do that. I feel terrible that I never got to know a lot of my cousins children. From what I have read about Jessica, it sounds like she was a lot like you. You were always such a happy person and that laugh is like no other. I wish we all could have come out to be with you but please know we are praying for you and for Jessica.

to our miss sunshine... thank you for always putting a smile on our faces, for grounding us, reminding us to have fun and not take life so seriosuly, to appreciate the little things in life, and for insisting that if i sing in the car, it is at the top of my lungs... because otherwise, im "not doing it right" thank you for loving my children as if they were your own, playing hide and seek with alexis, and cradling carmine at the hospital just after he was born. thank you for jumping up and cheering when he learned to crawl and teaching alexis to give butterfly kisses. i will think of you everytime she gives me one... rest in peace baby girl... we will miss you...

I went to school with Jessica, i was a grade ahead of her and road the same bus as she did. We were not real close but she was a very nice person and smiled all the time. I am so sorry for your loss and am praying for your Family.

I didn't know your daughter, but I would like to offer my condolences to all of you. I, like many others, read of this in the newspaper & I would like to say that sometimes, things happen that don't make any sense to us. We don't have God's view of things & maybe, one day, we will know the reason. Until then, I hope that your faith, family, friends will help to lighten your burden. I have lived through losing my own daughter & I would like you to know that, like the old saying goes..Time Heals All Wounds...It doesn't make them any less, but the pain will become less as time goes on...And, yes, it will get better.
