Lucy M. Cesarini

1914 - 2012

Lucy M. Cesarini, 97, formerly of 538 S. Main St., died Thursday evening, Jan. 12, 2012, in the Chittenango Center (Stonehedge), where she had been a resident for the past two and one-half years.
Born in Canastota, on April 18, 1914, she was a daughter of Joseph and Mary Picciano Basilio. A lifelong resident of Canastota, Lucy was educated in Canastota schools. She married Major J. Cesarini in Canastota on Feb. 22, 1936. Mr. Cesarini died on June 8, 1998.
Mrs. Cesarini was a communicant of St. Agatha's Church.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jeanette Cesarini of Canastota and John M. and Connie Cesarini of Clockville; one daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Robert Dugan of West Winfield; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Carmen and Josie Basilio of Rochester, Armando Basilio, Paul and Jean Basilio and Joseph Basilio, all of Canastota; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Tillie and Dominick Guido of Ocala, Fla. and Dolores Musacchio of Texas; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Robert F. Cesarini, a great-grandson, Alexander R. Debrucque and two sisters, Jessie De Stefan and Anna Wimmer.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday from St. Agatha's Church, where the funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin Maloney, pastor. Interment will be made in St. Agatha's Cemetery. Friends may call at the church, 9-10 a.m., Tuesday, prior to the service. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro St., Canastota. Arrangements are under the direction of the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 300 S. Peterboro St., Canastota.
