Matt was one of my best friends. We met while working at the Sarasota YMCA and instantly became close over mutually shared humor and working out. We stayed close friends over the 6 years we knew each other, and came to be coworkers at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Although we didn´t work in the same department, when I was lucky enough to cross paths with him at work he always would make me laugh with another Facebook video or an inside joke we shared. Never once in all the time I knew Matt was he in a bad mood, depressed, or sad about anything. I´ve had some of the hardest laughs in my life with him. During the early days of covid in 2020 he took me fishing by the south siesta key bridge, and I´ll cherish those nights for the rest of my life. I´ve always admired him for his incredibly determined work ethic and commitment to becoming a better person at everything he strived for in life. God took Matt from us at a time that is of course incredibly heart breaking, but at a time that he felt was right. I know that he´s finally at peace and his soul will rest for the remainder of eternity. My heart goes out to his girlfriend; I hope she knows that not a day would go by without Matt mentioning Elizabeth. My deepest condolences to his family, I hope your hearts find peace in this incredibly challenging time.

Dear Stephen and Tara, My heart breaks for you. As Elizabeth´s mom, I know how much he loved you and how much you meant to him. He was like a second son to me - I know how much he and Elizabeth loved each other....and he was always funny and kind and helped me fix things around the house and yard. You raised him to be a fine young man and I am so happy he was a part of our lives. Love to you...Karen Miles
