Robert J. Kinney Jr.

Munnsville-Robert J. Kinney Jr., 64, of Phillips Drive passed away Monday morning, May 8, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer at his home surrounded by the love and care of his family.He was born on May 21, 1958 at the former Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY the son of Robert J. and Roberta (Franklin) Kinney and was a 1977graduate of Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools.On April 7, 1978 Bob enlisted with the Unites States Army and served as a combat engineer and was honorably discharged on June 12, 1981.On March 18, 1989 Bob and Wendy L Olszyk were united in marriage in Munnsville, NY and shared this vow of thirty-four years together.Prior to his retirement in 2020 Bob was employed with BAC (Bricklayers Allied Craftworkers) Local 2 as a stone and brick mason.In his spare time, he could be found in the woods hunting or on the water fishing.Surviving is his wife Wendy L. Kinney of Munnsville, their two children Benjamin (Ashley) Kinney and granddaughter Sophia, of Vernon and Kelsey Kinney (Rick Widger) of Canastota. Also surviving is his son Joshua (Kate) Kinney and grandchildren, Alexis and Tyler, of Durhamville, two sisters, Donna (Kevin) Carrigan of Newberry Springs, CA and Susan Kinney of Needles, CA and niece Aleah and nephew Shane.Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc, 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY.
