Robert Smith Obituary

Robert L. Smith, 61, formerly of Peterboro, and a long-time resident of Syracuse, passed away on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2021, with the love and support of his brother and sister-in-law at his side, following a courageous fight against COVID, at Crouse Hospital.He was born in Richmond, Virginia. Bob was raised in Peterboro and was a graduate of Morrisville-Eaton High School. He did work for several years at SUNY Morrisville in the Food Service Department. Bob enjoyed his church, camping, watching sports and hanging out with family and friends. He was known to his family as “Uncle Bob.” Although, Uncle Bob had many struggles in life, his family was the most important, and even thru the difficult times, his love for all, and his infectious smile, made his life complete.He is survived by a daughter Jaqueline, his siblings, Allen (Shawn) Meyers, Sr., Ellen Hauck LeClair, Robert (Betty) Meyers, many nieces, nephews, and his dear friends Robert Attridge, along with Pastor Tom and Nancy Augliano. Uncle Bob was predeceased by his parents, Maynard and Greta Hauck; his sister Karen Hauck Davis; and his brother Roger Hauck.Funeral services will be held in the spring, with interment will take place in Peterboro Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. The care of Uncle Bob and his family has been entrusted to Jeffrey T. Paul, of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
