Ronald Parsons Obituary
Born in Rome on March 19, 1937, he was a son of Howard F. and Eros Brayton Parsons. A lifelong resident of the area, Ron was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1956. He married Mary Uhlig in Oneida on April 17, 1982.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Parsons was employed with Oneida Limited. He was a member of the Durhamville Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion, Oneida Post 169 and enjoyed bicycling, motorcycling and doing lawn care for others. Ron was a veteran of the United States Army from 1958-1961 serving during the Berlin Crisis.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; one daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Kevin Bates of Webster; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey R. and Maria Parsons of Syracuse and Gregory J. and Gail Parsons of Verona; one sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Eric Kaiding of Old Forge; one brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Mary Parsons of Rome; six grandchildren, Alexandria Parsons, Gabriella Parsons, Victoria Parsons, Tyler Parsons, Allyson Bates and Kevin Bates; a goddaughter, Brandi Streeter and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles E. Parsons on May 17, 2011 and Larry Parsons in 1989.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, with the Rev. Neil Coe, officiating. Spring interment will be made in Westerville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service. I so sorry to hear about Ron passing.I worked with Ronnie for many years at Oneida Limited.It been a privilege to call him a friend for over 45 years.He will be missed greatly. He is with the angels now R.I.P...My condolences go out to Ronnie's entire family-my thoughts and prayer are with you all.

Ron was one of those people who reached down to pull me up when I was hanging over the cliff. I will live inspired by his short and to the point messages of hope and his way of living life to the fullest!
