Thelma Freedman Obituary
Born in Oswego, on Jan. 28, 1930, she was the daughter of Dr. Howard and Thelma Hord Beach and was raised in Oneida in her youth. Thelma graduated from Drew Academy, received her bachelors degree from State University at New Paltz , and her masters and doctorate degrees from Saybrook University. Thelma married David C. Freedman in New York City on Jan. 5, 1957, and they resided in Monroe, N.Y. for many years, returning to this area in 1987.
Dr. Freedman was a psychologist and hypnotherapist in Orange County and later in Oneida and Fayetteville. She was past president and journal editor for the International Association for Regression Research and Therapy and had a great love for cats, classical music and reading mystery novels.
Surviving besides her husband, David, are three sons and one daughter-in-law, Eric D. and Cheryle Freedman of Cape Coral, Fla., Jeffrey H. Freedman of Port Jervis and Peter B. Freedman of Kew Gardens Hills; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Beach and Stanley Krupa of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert H. and Charlene Beach of Montgomery, Ala.; five grandchildren, Peter, Danielle, Elizabeth, Kimberly and Kevin; one great-grandchild, Shea; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Feltser in 2009 and a brother, Lawrence Beach in 1987.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Friday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida. Friends may call at the funeral home, 1-3 p.m., Friday, prior to the funeral service. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to the ECF Residents Fund, c/o Oneida Healthcare Center Foundation, Box 705, Oneida, NY 13421. Envelopes for this fund may be obtained at the funeral home.

Dear Dave and family,
I met Thelma when I visited "the camp" about 7 years ago. My family had owned it from 1957 until Thelma and Dave bought it from my parents in 1985. It was a place of wonder and joy to me and my family. When my daughter and i knocked on your door unannounced a few years ago, you could not have been more welcoming. We enjoyed our visits over the years ... and my daughter remembers Thelm and Dave fondly. I know how very much Thelma loved living at the lake and am saddened that I will not have the pleasure of visiting her again. I send many warm thoughts to Dave - and hope that you are doing ok. It must be very difficult to be without Thelma. I hope you are comforted thinking of all the joy you experienced in your long life together.

We met many years ago through APRT now IARRT. She was dedicated to what she believed in and I appreciated that in her. She volunteered many hours first helping with the Journal of Regression Therapy and then becoming the Editor after Russell Davis. We emailed back and forth over the years and always exchanged Christmas Cards. I will miss her. My love to her family at this very sad time. Carry on Thelma!

Dear Thelma, All you explored, taught, researched, and supported in your work has brought you to your final knowing of what it is really all about. My heart and love are with you and your dear ones as they adjust to you not being gone, but just gone ahead. I see you in spirit joyously laughing and celebrating a job well done and your life well lived.
