Alan Parker Obituary
A native of Athens Mr. Parker was the son of Elbert "Ed" Parker and Gwen Dillard Parker of Athens and was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Parker. He served in the United States Navy, was a driver with Triple HHH Transportation, and a member of Joy Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Amanda Witcher Parker and daughter, Maylin Ashley Parker both of Athens and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 4PM Sunday, June 7th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Reverends Shanon Hayes and Rob Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-4PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Danny Hanley, Alan Combs, Jeff Hale, Dale Rice, Dixon Collins, and Bill Mead will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Maylin Ashley Parker Educational Fund, c/o Athens Christian School, 1270 Hwy 29 N, Athens, GA 30601.

I am so sorry we did not know about your loss and funeral until church Sunday morning. Our church, Whitehall Baptist, had prayer for your family. Our condolences to the Parker Family. Although I haven't seen Alan but a handful of times over the years, I worked with Alan, Ed and Wesley in the 80's at Perteet T.V. Great bunch of guys. My heart breaks for all of Alan's loved ones. Prayers to you all.

I just heard this news, I am so sorry. Although Alan and I have not spent time together in many years, I feel we had a special bond from our past. I am very sad today to hear this but I feel blessed to have great memories. R.I.P. Hawkman, I love you brother.
