Survivors include son, Rev Dwight L. (Rhonda) Sims; daughter, Pamela D. Sharp; mother, Lucretia E. Howard; sisters, Lizzie Thompson, Lucrestia Hunter, Ruby Tiller, Mamie Howard, Rosa Williams and Edna H. Flint; adopted sister, Elizabeth Sanders; and four grandchildren.
Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home, Athens, has charge of arrangements.

Our dearest Edna and the entire Howard Families, our hearts go out to you all during this most difficut time. Mrs. Sharp was dear to us in a special way, especially me, we've had many conversations about life and it's ups and downs and I've taken her wisdom to heart and learned how to deal with life's circumstances through watching her talk and walk the path that Jesus laid for her. I'll always cherish the memories as well as the love we shared that no one can ever take away.
May God keep you all and grant you peace and comfort whenever you need it.

I was so blessed to have known Catherine. Her spirit was so sweet. We shared some wonderful testimonies about the our wonderful, savior and Lord Jesus Christ during the time we both were going through our treatments for cancer. I know in my heart that she is with the Lord. She confessed her love for him each time we met and prayed together. I am so happy I got the opportunity to see her before she bid us all farewell. I pray that we will all be ready when He returns. May the sweet communion of the Holy spirit rest, rule and abide with you all during this most difficulty hour of sorrow.
