Evan Gill Obituary
The son of Mike and Mandy Gill, Evan was born on February 16, 1993 in Savannah, Georgia. He was raised in Columbus, Georgia, where he was a graduate of Columbus High School and an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was an Eagle Scout, a recipient of the Shirley and Billy Weir Scholarship, and a 2015 graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a member of Phi Sigma Lambda (Phi Slam), a faith-based, God-centered, non-profit organization that provides UGA underclassmen an encouraging, close community at an otherwise large university.
Evan was employed by Prolifik Marketing in Athens and attended Athens Church. He and Lauren were members of a local small group for newly-married couples who met weekly to support and provide spiritual growth for one another.
He is also survived by his brother, Graham Michael Gill and a host of family and friends who loved and adored him.
Evan had a larger-than-life personality; yet, he performed his many acts of kindness with zero fanfare. He fed the hungry, clothed the needy, and he did all of this with a quiet grace. His final act of giving was to donate his organs to those in need.
It was apparent from an early age that Evan had an "inner spark" that lit and filled any room he entered. He loved, more than anything, to make people laugh, and his quick wit and sense of fun made him seize every moment of every day. When you were with him, you knew that you were important because he made you feel that way. He was a treasure.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 13 from 5:00-7:00p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia 31907. A memorial service to celebrate Evan's life will be held Saturday, April 14th at 1:00p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church 2101 Wildwood Ave. Columbus, Georgia 31906.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, Columbus, Georgia and marked in memory of Evan Gill.

Evan was a wonderful classmate and a truly great person to be around. I still remember him and his impact on everyone who knew him- a fun, positive, upbeat and wonderful person! These are some silly memories of the fun spirit he embraced classmates with.

Evan was such a wonderful person, and truly was a light among everyone. He touched lives and brightened days. Grateful to have known him so long ago in high school. But he was that kind of person to leave a lasting impression, and a wonderful one at that. Such a devasting thing to happen to such a great person. My prayers are going up for all his close friends, family, and beautiful wife!
