Dear Lynn and Judy,
What a strange coincidence! My sister Pamela and I were preparing to write the obituary for our own father, Capt. Jack Young, who had just died at 93 years on June 26th, and she had the Shipmate magazine open to the page on which your father's obit was shown! I picked up the magazine and exclaimed "I know him!" So I copied the page and finally have time to try to find you to offer my condolences as well... Hopefully, you will continue to check this Web site. If you ever come to the Seattle, WA area, please look me up. I doubt I'll ever make it to Georgia... There was a big reunion in Rota in May, and I couldn't make it to that one either. Hope all is well with you and your families. Most sincerely, Peggy Young Etchevers

Judy and the Elkins family, Jim was a wonderful friend for many years and was one of the nicest people I have ever known. He and Carol were a super couple. One of the many stories he told me was when a senior navy officer flirted with Carol and "little" Jim came to her rescue. He was much loved and will be sorely missed.
