GA; Joshua Horton of Ramstein AFB, Germany; Seth and Silas Lanard of Athens, GA.;and her paternal aunt, Margie Murray of Watkinsville, along with many cousins in Georgia and Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents W.C and Elizabeth Murray of Hull, Georgia.

She was a life-long resident of Georgia, living in Athens, Atlanta area, and Gainesville. Her administrative vocation began with St Mary's Hospital Medical Record's Department after her graduation from Clarke Central High School. Her twenty-five year career with the State of Georgia Bureau of Pardons and Parole began in Atlanta as an accounts clerk. During her tenure she served as clerk, secretary, and administrative secretary in district offices, finishing her career as administrative secretary/assistant to the chief of the Gainesville District Office.

As a life-long Presbyterian, she attended churches in Athens and Gainesville. Helping others was important to her...she volunteered with Habitat, Breast Cancer Walk, Veteran's group, homeless shelter programs, and soup kitchen as well as among senior citizens in nursing homes. One of her hobbies was crochet...she made many afghans for family, friends, and others including lap robes for nursing home residents. Other interests included working as a volunteer with Road Atlanta Racing, competitive shooting with handgun and rifle, and creating relief sculpture objects in a variety of mediums. She was a member of the Athens Chapter of the Eastern Star.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Alps Road Presbyterian Church, Athens, Georgia with Rev. Deb Trimpe officiating.
