Janice Coffee Johnson

Watkinsville - Janice C. Johnson, 76, of Watkinsville, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009.
A native of Oconee County, she was born March 11, 1933, to the late John M. and Willie V. Gipson Coffee. She was raised in Cordele, Ga., but lived most of her life in Commerce, Ga. She retired as a buyer and fashion consultant for Cato, but she is best known as an avid gardener. She loved her flower gardens. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Watkinsville First United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful mom and friend. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas L. Johnson; and her brothers, Spencer and John Ellis Coffee.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Watkinsville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Beth LaRocca-Pitts officiating. Interment will be at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, 1211 Jimmie Daniels Road, Bogart, Ga.
Survivors include children and spouses, Deatrice and James Fountain, Moultrie, Ga., Diana M. Whitlock, Commerce, Ga., Tracy and Sherry Minish, Houston, Texas, Kim Minish, Athens, Ga., and Kelley Minish, Bogart, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Robbie and Bob Picha, Sunnyvale, Calif., Sally Ann Bagwell of Cordele, Ga., and LaCree and Larry Ellison of St. Simons, Ga.; grandchildren, Jim Fountain, Anna Fleetwood, Justin, Blake and Ashley Fitzpatrick and Tyler, Carson, Chase and Jessica Minish; and five great-grandchildren.
