Jon Whiddon Obituary
Jon was born Wednesday, December 21, 1960 in Houston County to Dewey Nolan Whiddon and the late Marion Hutchinson Whiddon. He graduated Young Harris College and attended McConnell Memorial Baptist Church. Jon was an artist and affiliated with Main Street Gallery in Clayton, he was a member of the North East Georgia Art Guild. Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Whiddon.
Survivors include his father Dewey Whiddon of Hiawassee; sister, Alyeen Whiddon of Atlanta; brothers, Bruce Whiddon of Macon and Alex Whiddon of Athens. Jon was a beloved friend to many.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 24, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. from the McConnell Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Rudy Patton officiating.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee is in charge of arrangements. You may send condolences to the family and sign the guest register at www.cochranfuneral.com.

Dear Alycen, Bruce, Alex, and Mr. Whiddon,
We're so sorry to hear of Jon's death. Although the years between our communications are many (too many, in fact), we still remember those wonderful times spent together as we grew older, and some wiser, in Perry. Your dear Marion and Jon were important parts of those wonderful moments, and we share your sense of loss.

My heartfelt sympathy is with Jon's family and friends. We were shocked to hear of his passing as we had not heard of his recent illness. I feel blessed to have known Jon and have some great memories of him that will stay with me.
