Joseph Walsh Obituary
Mr. Walsh was born in Toledo, OH on January 2, 1951, son of the late William Walsh and the late Norma Weber Walsh. He worked for Garrett- APEX and was a United States Army 5th Special Forces Veteran having served two tours in Vietnam earning three Purple Hearts, one Bronze Star, one Silver Star and one Medal of Commendation. Mr. Walsh was also of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Haley Walsh; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Anthony and Ashley Walsh of Grove City, OH; daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Russell Herman of Chilicothe, OH; step-daughters and son-in-law, Melinda Barwick of Danielsville, GA and Angela and Bobby Thompson of Colbert, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Norma Walsh of Toledo, OH and Joan and Ron Layman of Las Vegas, NV; half-brothers, and sisters-in-law, William and Kathy Walsh of Rossford, OH, John and Rachel Walsh of Warren, OH and Tom Walsh of Simpsonville, SC; half-sisters and brother-in-law, Helen Walsh of Toledo, OH, Meg and Michael Dray of Sylvania, OH and Lisa Walsh of Toledo, OH; in-laws, Frank and Gail Haley of Danielsville, GA, Jimmy Haley of Bowman, GA, Patsy Jones of Ila, GA, Joyce and George Wilhite of Loganville, GA, Ricky and Libby Haley of Lexington, GA and Howard Littin of Hillsdale, MI; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren, Alyssa Fleming of Bowman, GA and Jaron Fleming of Danieslville, GA; twenty-two nephews and nieces, and twenty-seven great nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Walsh Littin; and nephew, Joseph Littin.
Funeral services for Mr. Walsh will be held in the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, with Father Rafael Castano officiating. Interment followed in Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. The family is at the home.
