I have so many fond memories of Dr. Calhoun. She and I had some great conversations about school events as well as our common Christian beliefs. I was so honored when she asked me if I would come and talk to her Sunday School Class about the issues of abuse that plague the lives of children. She had such a heart for the vulnerable and innocent little ones whose lives are often shattered because of family problems. I feel very blessed to have known her, and it was my great privilege to work with her as the counselor in the new Kinchafoonee Primary School.

Dr. Calhoun was always very good to me. She hired me and was my principal when I was going through my divorce. She was always concerned for me and for my children. There were many times that I went to the lunchroom to pay for my lunch and found they had already been paid. When she went to Twin Oaks, she made sure I had a place with her there. I will miss her greatly as I know you will. Thanks for all the years you shared her with us. Sincerely, Barbara Hall

As a newcomer to Lee County I never had the opportunity to work with Dr. Calhoun, however I have heard so many wonderful things about her and her love for children until I feel as though some of her influence has been imparted to me. She is surely missed by those who knew her well, but her life will continue to touch others through the impact she had on those who teach. What a legacy!

Dr. Marjorie Calhoun was an original!

A magical mixture of spunk and humility, determination and kindness, courage and humor. She shared her talent of educating others in the secular as well as the spiritual genre.

The gifts she shared with students, teachers and their families are immeasurable. We have only to look at the scope of her impact to glimpse eternity.

She was my principal, my mentor, my faithful email correspondent but most of all....she was my friend.
