Mazie Smith Obituary
A native of Homer, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alma Smith Wood, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Smith; brothers, Carl and Junior Wood; and sister, Dot Sailors. She was a receptionist at the Physical Plant at the University of Georgia, and a member of Hull Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Patsy S. Fullwood, and husband, Tony, of Hull; son, Robert T. Smith, and wife, Tess, of Lynnville, Texas; brother, Jerry Wood, of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Ruth Brown, of Commerce, Merle Batson, of Easley, S.C., Wilma Whidby, of Loganville, and Nell Airial, of Plains; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, at Bernstein Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 15, at Hull Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Hull Baptist Church, P.O. Box 640, Hull, GA 30646. Online condolences may be offered at www.bernsteinfuneralhome.com.

I worked with Mazie several years at Physical Plant and we were in the same Sunday School class at Hull until I moved to Oconee Co. She was such a dear friend and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I worked with Mazie from 1986-1989 at the Physical Plant when I was a student. She was always very kind to me, and very patient, and I have fond memories of her from those years. She was quietly a very funny lady. Please accept my condolences.
