Mrs. Jones was my English teacher at Sequoyah High School in Doraville, Georgia. She was the greatest influence in my life, as well as, so many others within our community. The encouragement she gave to me for writing is still deep within my soul. I am finally writing that story, she told me I would write about my life when the time was right. I understand your loss, however her memories will live forever in the hearts and soul of all who crossed her path, especially mine.
Sincerely,
Coni Lang

Angela, Mike and Ann and Family, Tommy and Maruya and Family:

Terry and I served the Canon Charge for five of the most wonderful years of our ministry and Polly was one of our dearest friends on the entire charge.

I could not begin to recount all of our memories . . . but three that stand out include the times she babysat for our only child, Dorothy (we were PICKY parents and didn't leave her with just "anybody" - Polly contributed some of her most valuable, lasting and enduring "life lessons" and we will always love her for that!

(2) Polly and I spent an entire afternoon and evening in the Fellowship Hall at the Bowersville Church making "stuff" for their first Fall Bazaar . . . she never forgot her love of Bowersville!!!

(3) She and I spent the night at my Mom's house in northeast Atlanta one night before she had a doctor's appointment at Emory. They SO enjoyed one another, and I was absolutely honored to have the privilege of accompanying her to Emory.

There are more - - - we spent many Sunday afternoons around her dining room table - - - I really loved Sylvia so much and loved Polly's stories about "Angie".

She loved the Canon Church and her pastor and his family SO much. We were not only her "parsonage" family, but her friends, and I will cherish that always.

I am so sorry that no one called us to let us know she had died!! When we moved back to Franklin County two years ago - - - and actually the day we found out we WOULD be moving back here - - - we went to Brown to see her, and Terry visited her - - - often finding her asleep and he didn't wake her - - - fairly regularly over the last two years.

We would have been there with you had we known, and we will always regret not knowing, but God knows and we hope you do too just how much we loved her and care about all of YOU!!

Claire and Terry

I would like the family of mrs. polly jones to know I was honoured to have mrs jones for my english teacher at sequoyah high school, doraville, ga. mrs jones was a wonderful teacher. also, on a personal note, mrs jones was tall like I am, however in high school being tall was hard for me. well, mrs jones, who was elegantly tall herself, would tell me to stand up straight and be proud to be tall. her kind, encouraging words have been with me for 40 years. I met mrs jones's daughter, sylvia, once briefly who was a beautiful young mother at the time. my prayers and blessings to the whole family.
