Robert Allen "Bobby" Saine

1948 - 2015

Robert "Bobby" Allen Saine passed March 3, 2015 peacefully at his home in Lawrenceville, GA. Robert was born July 8, 1948, in Madison, GA and was raised in Athens, GA. He is survived by his many family and friends whose lives are forever changed. Robert was a Telecommunications Specialist at Southern Company, where he worked for 42 years. He graduated from Athens High School (Class of '66) and University of Georgia. He served in the Army from 1967-1971.

Robert was one of the most generous, intelligent, strong, compassionate and fearless men you could ever know. Of Baptist faith, he lived an exemplary life, loving his family and enjoying every day to the fullest. He was passionate about making everything better. There was nothing he couldn't modify, make more efficient, or make faster. He enjoyed flying, motorcycles, golf, building model planes and helicopters, watersports and carpentry.

Son of Allen Lee Saine (founder of Allen's Famous Hamburgers, Athens GA) and Mary Lou Gatlin Saine. Husband to Janice Moon Saine, of Hartwell, GA, for 33 years. Brother to Roy Saine and Linda Weber. Father and role-model to Lindsey Smith, 30. Father-in-Law and friend to Adam Smith. Beloved Uncle to Robert Strickland (wife Katherine), Amy Morrow, Jamie Miller (husband Stanely) and Casie Maxey (husband Josh). Brother-in-Law to Stephanie Saine (wife of Roy Saine), Mary Morrow and Sue Smith. Best friend to beloved Pugshire, Phoebe.
