Carl Raber Obituary

Carl E. Raber, 65, of Glenwood, died June 30, 2013, after battling lung cancer for more than two years. To respect Carl's wishes, no funeral services will be held. Memorials are suggested to Hospice with Heart, 300 W. Broadway, Suite 114, Council Bluffs, Iowa 51503-9030. Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home of Wahoo, Neb. is in charge of arrangements.
Carl was born Oct. 12, 1947, to Earl and Thelma Raber in Des Moines. Carl lived around the Waukee and West Des Moines area for many years. Serving his country in the Army, Carl was in the Vietnam War from 1968 - 1970. He was a proud member of the 3rd/5th US Cavalry Vietnam Black Knights Association. On July 15, 1978, Carl married Rebecca Crawford-Keltner. He moved his family to Glenwood in August 1982 after accepting a transfer from MidAmerican Energy. Carl worked for MidAmerican Energy for almost 30 years. Most of those years he worked at The Walter Scott Energy Center.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, both sets of grandparents and his father-in-law. Carl is survived by his wife Rebecca Raber, Glenwood; daughter Deanna (J.E.) Trevillyan, West Des Moines; sons Michael (Amy) Keltner, LaVista, Neb.; and Chad M. Keltner, Atlanta; brother Larry (Deb) Raber, Grimes; grandchildren T.J. (Nicole) Trevillyan, West Des Moines; Kasey (Corbin) Foster, Washougal, Wash.; Danielle Keltner and Chloe Keltner, both of Malvern; great-grandchildren Ben, Josiah, Noah, Ivy and Elouise; mother-in-law Donna Crawford, Earlham; and a host of many caring family and friends.
