Professor Heller was so amazing. A gift from God to be sure. Her hard work and superb example of integrity and prudence has helped me so much in my academic career. I think about her every semester, her advice and instruction is worth more than gold. Though I was greatly saddened by this, it brings my joy to know that she is with the Lord now, that she is free from any pain or hardship that she might have gone through.
God bless the Heller family, I am so sorry for your loss.

I know we weren't exactly the closest. I was often raising my hand in your class in your ENGL 100 writing class and wasn't really sure as to where my life would be heading or what the future held. Like I said I know we were the closest, but you were one of my first professors I had in college. I started Fall 2019 in your class in Fullerton College and I enjoyed going to your class every day despite how early it was on a Friday at 8 am. You certainly did stroke my ego when it came to writing but even that didn't prepare me for the times I feared I would fail or be kicked from your class for being late or be excluded from taking a early morning quiz because I was late. You showed me compassion despite my shortcomings listened to my concerns when I needed to talk, and always reassured me I was on track to pass. I know my grade was a high B it was still concerning because I wanted to get an A. It wasn't until you allowed me to get an extension for your class was I able to deal with my problems fully and devote my time into getting better myself. So thank you for letting me take time. Although we weren't close, I enjoyed being your student and your passion for the arts, literature, and humor are not lost to those around you who you touched. I was one of them. Although we weren't close, I will miss you Professor Heller. I hope you were surrounded by friends and family alike in your final moments. Someone as friendly as you doesn't deserve to die alone.

I worked with Carla at Santiago Canyon college. We met in the Adjunct faculty work space and would often share antidotes about our courses and teaching experiences. She was always kind, supportive, and had a great sense of humor. I will miss our chats together.
