DANIEL EVANS Obituary

Evans, Daniel Lowe Our beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, Daniel Low Evans, 88, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2009. Daniel was born on April 14, 1921 in Parowan, Utah to Clefford and Adaline Lowe Evans and grew up in Parowan. He married the two great loves of his life, Margaret Ruth, who later passed away and Joyce Adams Osborn, who also preceded him in death. Together they were blessed with two wonderful children, Daniel and Roger. Daniel answered the call of the country he so dearly loved and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the Second World War, rising to the rank of Corporal. Daniel moved to San Clemente, California where he became City Manager until 1964, when he became a successful Real Estate Developer. Daniel loved Parowan and Southern Utah. He was a loyal and dedicated member of the Parowan Heritage Foundation, and avid Rotarian, a Mason and in his later years donated the information building at the Parowan Cemetery. He will be dearly missed by many. Daniel was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a real and genuine testimony of his Savior. He spent countless years in service to his fellow men and women in the Church as a home teacher and High Priest among many other callings. We are certain a joyous reunion is taking place, as Daniel is preceded in death by his wives, Ruth and Joyce, his parents, grandparents, his brothers, Jay Lowell, Farris Merle, Clefford Delane, Warren George, William Dale, Hal Stuart and his sister, Alice Adams. Daniel is survived by his sons, Daniel of Parowan, Roger of San Celmente, California. Also 2 grandsons, Eric and Danny; one sister, Val Rae Munford (Lyman) along with many nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom he loved and adored. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Parowan LDS 3rd Ward Chapel in Parowan, Utah. A viewing will be also held Saturday, December 5, 2009, prior to services at 9:30 a.m. also at the Parowan LDS 3rd Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the Parowan City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to www.southernutahmortuary.com

The best and oldest friend I ever had is now gone. We first met in 1940 working in a bank in Calif. WWII separated us temporarily - we managed to stay in touch even then. I was best man at his wedding to dear Ruth in 1943. He was best man at mine 4 years later. We had a lot of happy times together and we are greatly saddened by his loss. Until we meet again my dear friend. Our prayers go with you. Lester & Margaret
