JOHN FALTERMEIER Obituary

Faltermeier, John V., known to friends as Jack, passed away at age 86 at his home in Irvine, CA on February 15th, 2013 due to congestive heart failure in combination with pulmonary fibrosis. Born in the Bronx, NYC, he served in the US Navy during WWII. Subsequently, he graduated from Syracuse University and attained his law degree from Harvard Law in 1951. He was a successful real estate attorney for JCPenney for 26 years in CA. His lifelong passions included singing, playing tennis, history, and following sports and the news. As a young man he sang tenor in a barbershop quartet in NYC, and was noted for his wonderful voice and the joy he felt when singing. He is survived by his son, John Jr. of Irvine; son, Brad and his two children, Sean and Erin, of Richmond, VA; and his beloved sister, Jeanne Cramer, of South Carolina.

John was a dedicated husband and father who devoted a great deal of time to his children and did his utmost to promote their success in life. He was preceded in death by Gloria, his beloved wife of 55 years, who passed in 2009, and his cherished daughter Gloria, who died of ovarian cancer in 2001.

A memorial service is planned for mid-July at the Fairhaven Memorial Services in Mission Viejo. An announcement of this event will be published in the Orange County Register in late June; or just check fairhavenmemorialservices.com.
