Just found out that Joe passed. Joe hired me part time as a bartender when I was just 22. I loved working there, I remember many of his friends, Bob Rabel my master teacher, Tilly and still my favorite burrito "Joe special" Charlie Young

Yes, my friend, Joe and Dana were very good bosses. And their kindness and generosity did help us all survive. Tilly's food was the best, especially the Texas white onion sauce chile releños. I, too, was sad to find the Casita closed. It is good to hear from you.

You were a good boss, Joe. Tilly was a great cook. Thank you both for giving us work and helping us all stay alive. Your chile rellenos with Texas white onion sauce were the best. Very sad to see the restaurant gone.

I was a regular patron with my office mates for lunch at the original Sandy's Casita. My favorite item on the menu was Joe's Special Burrito. I still miss it. I haven't found one to rival it. I think of those years fondly. I'm sorry it took me so long to look Joe up and find out he was gone. Sometime back I spotted Joe at the Stater's on Imperial and Rose and took a minute to say hi and tell him how I enjoyed his restaurant.

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Joe I loved Sandy's casita as aKid. My mother Dee Word and my step father Ed Word were fairly good friends with joe and sandy. My mother worked at Sandy's casita for a few years and as a kid I rode my bicycle from Yorba Linda to brea. We also had Horse property close to the restaurant. I fondly remember ole Joe. Go with God ol joe. You will always be part of my memory's. Darren McManus.
