Peg was a loving and dedicated wife, sister, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and landed in
San Clemente, California with the love of her life, Jim Hamer after marriage in 1959. She is best known for her zest of life and her spirit of conversation, storytelling, and humor. One always had a smile on their face after spending time with Peg. She served the Orange County Public Library where she retired and volunteered for over 30 years at Our Lady of Fatima school and church as the 7am Sunday opener and greeter. Her passion for musical theater, movies, and walking on the beach trail with her dear friends is what she treasured most as well as her grandchildren and family.
Peg joins Jim and grandson Sean in heaven and is survived by children, Ginny, Fran and Peggy; son-in-law, Walter; grandchildren, Julia, Chris, Nick, Sarah; brother, John; and sisters, Ginny and Kathy. Visitation will be at Lesneski Mortuary on Monday, August 14, 4-8pm with a rosary at 6pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 10am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She will then join her husband who was a Korean War Veteran in the U.S. Air Force at the National Cemetery in Miramar, CA.

Dear Ginny, Peggy and Fran - I am so very saddened at the loss of your dear mother, known to me as Peg. She was a dear friend not only to me but to the rest of the Schiller family. Her generous spirit and kindness always shined through. I vividly recall the wonderful times my parents, Art and Bette Schiller had with both your mom and dad. You all have my deepest sympathy. May you find comfort in faith, family and friends.

I will miss Peggy's warmth and friendship. We always shared stories about our families and had a lot of laughs together. Peg was a family loving person who really supported her grandchildren by picking them up from school, arranging activities for them and showering them with love. When I complimented her on her efforts, she would always say: "They're family." I'm so glad that she was able to make one last trip to Ireland last summer. I will miss her.
