NORMAN CROUSE

Crouse, Norman, age 89, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Riverside, California surrounded by his family September 25th, 2012. He was born on September 7, 1923 in Chelsea, Nova Scotia, Canada. Norman graduated from Bridgewater High School in Nova Scotia, and completed one year of college before being drafted in 1943. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force During WWII where he became a flight engineer. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Nordstrom on April 14, 1945 in Michigan. Wanting to escape the harsh winters of Detroit, he moved his family to Covina, California in 1952. He worked for Michigan Bell, Pacific Bell and what was to become AT&T for 40 years serving as a long distance equipment technician in downtown Los Angeles. After retiring from the phone company, he happily became a steam train engineer at Disneyland Resort and drove the train and steamboat for 16 years. He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Kathleen and her husband Walid; four grandchildren, Charis, Christel, Andrew and Adam; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and friends. A celebration of his life will be held at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, CA on October 6 at 1pm. A reception at Grace Church in Glendora will follow the graveside service.
