RICHARD SALISBURY Obituary
March 23, 1943 - April 17, 2014
Born in Salem, OH to parents James and Helen Salisbury, Dick moved to CA as a young child. Dick graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Civil Engineering in April 1968. He went on to take a job with Union Oil Co., and moved around the country for a few years until settling in Placentia 41 years ago. Dick spent his entire career with Union Oil until retirement, at which time he went on to do contract work in the oil field industry for many years. Dick spent a great deal of time throughout the 70's and 80's coaching soccer and serving on the Board of Directors for the local JUSA organization. Dick was also very active with automotive restoration. His latest unfinished treasure was his '57 Chevy pick-up. Dick is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy; daughter, Lori (Ken) Lundberg; son, Brian (Kendal); and grandchildren, Finley and Lucas Salisbury.
He will be truly missed as a husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on May 2, 2014 at Placentia First United Methodist Church, 2050 Valencia Ave., Placentia, CA 92870

Dick was a great help to me, when I was operating and maintaining, gas plants in the Los Angeles basin, notably, designing
the Rosecrans and Dominguez gas plants and assisting in their successful startup. He was a top hand in the oil patch. His expertise
will be missed.

Dick was truly a great mentor and friend during my years working with him in the Santa Fe Springs Union Oil/Unocal office from 1988-1995. I will remember Dick as a hot rod guy, a mentor and a master at decommissioning oil fields.
