ROBERT BANNICK Obituary

Bannick, Robert "Bob" Edward, 83, of La Habra, CA, passed from this life on August 6, 2012.

Bob was born in Flint, Michigan February 2, 1929, the eldest son of Edward and Sophie Bannick. After attending Catholic School and graduating from Flint Northern High School in 1946, he was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning from military duty, Bob took advantage of the GI Bill and graduated from Michigan State University in 1957 with a degree in electrical engineering.

After graduation, Bob moved to Northern California. There he met his first wife, Carmel and began his long career in electrical engineering. In the early 1960's they moved to Costa Mesa, CA where he worked in the aerospace engineering field; Bob was proud to have worked on Mars Viking space probe.

In 1971, Bob married his second wife, Virginia, and they began their life together in LaHabra. Bob enjoyed travel and weekend trips to Las Vegas. He was also an avid gardener, and a astute businessman and property owner.

Bob was blessed with a loving family throughout his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Gail Bannick. He is survived by his six children, Nicholas (Teresa) Bannick of Richmond, TX, Elena (Ben) Ross of Reno, NV, Elizabeth (Dave) Sullivan of Tucker, GA, Karl Keil of Fullerton, CA, Sharon (Delton) Quillin of Ruckersville, VA and Rick (Kathy) of Wardlaw of Charleston, IN; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his sisters, Jeri White in Ohio, Patricia (Gordon) Corrigan in South Carolina; and his brother, Ken Bannick in Idaho.

Memorial Services will be held at Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea on Tuesday, September 18 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Bob Bannick to a charity of your choice.
