I cannot believe Valerie is gone, I just happened to think of her, I've thought of her often but this time I googled her name & this came up.
I hadn't seen her since one time when she came to visit me around 1986 up in the high desert where I lived. A wonderful person she was, an extraordinary woman, I want to cry just writing this.
I met her when she was my Manpower work counselor when I was just a teenager in a foster home.
What she did for me I can never repay, she took a special interest in me when no one else did, one time even coming to my dad's apartment when I was there alone & I felt depressed.
She took me in when I turned 18 & no longer a ward of the court when she was living in her La Habra apartment for awhile.
She was a class act, don't know why she should take an interest in me but it was a beautiful thing she did to show concern for an underprivileged & very lost young girl.
She was one of the first to suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Epstein Barr & multiple horrible food sensitivities, she told me on her visits how much she suffered from this horrible condition. Now practically everyone has these conditions.
I can only offer my condolences & tell you that your daughter was a very big part of my life though I lost touch with her when I was going through my many moves. She shines in my memory as someone that helped me like no one else did or could, she has a heart of gold, she was humane, caring & kind to all.
Valerie, I know I'll see you again my sweet dear friend & when I do I will bow before you & honor you for the great & awesome spirit you were and continue to be. I love you my dear friend.

I knew Valerie as the leader of a support group in Corona. She was such a sincere, kind and intelligent person. Her interest in the group helped a lot of us. I never forgot her even though it was many years ago. I am very sorry for your loss as she was the kind of person you do not forget.

My sincerest condolences to the entire Dufresne family. This comes as quite a surprise and shock to me. Although it has been a while since I have seen all of you, I passed by your home last Friday evening and thought about all the time I used to spend at your house and with your family during my high school years. It was like my second home.
I am so sorry for your loss

I'd like to offer up my condolences to the entire Dufresne family. I haven't seen Valerie in years but she always struck me as somebody who really enjoyed life. If somebody would be kind enough to e-mail me at [email protected] the organiztion or cause Valerie most believed in, I would love to make a contribution in honor of her. I'm really sorry to hear about this.
My sincerest regrets,
John
