Alice and I came onto the League of Women Voters of Oregon state board together, June 2011, both of us new to the League. We had worked together before with the Democratic Party of Oregon, where she continued as a professional Parliamentarian. Alice was well-appreciated for evenhandedly chairing our Action Committee with efficient agendas. She had just begun to serve, trading hats with me to be our newly elected LWVOR President. Her new-President leadership newsletters sparkled, celebrating our commitment and accomplishments in contentious political times.
Alice was the best at erasing quandaries by citing relevant bylaws and policies! "Let´s Ask Alice!" so often gave the perfect solution! I now often think, "Where´s Alice when we need her?" She was the Queen of hilariously, predictably brief emails. Her wry sense of humor made meetings a Joy! It was so nice to compare notes leisurely with her at our state board retreats, finding that we had more in common, childhood experiences and church. We both loved good food and she appreciated not having to cook.
I miss her terribly.
On behalf of LWVOR, please accept our deepest condolences and gratitude for sharing her with us. We opened a LWVOR comments web page for Alice.

Alice supported equity for women and girls through the American Association of University Women for over 50 years. As current AAUW of Oregon President, I know she is fondly remembered by many. She served as the Oregon AAUW State President in 1998-2000. In 2004 an endowment was funded in her name by appreciative members. That endowment continues to fund education grants today in her name. I met her in 2017 when she organized visits to Congress by Oregon AAUW members during a convention in Washington,D.C. During the last five years, she has volunteered as Parliamentarian for AAUW of Oregon, contributing her skills as needed. She will be sorely missed.

Dear Paul, dear family,
as Zonta International President, I am sending you my deep condolences to the loss of your dear partner Alice and your dear Mom and sister.
Allison was an over decades a dedicated and generous Zontian and good friend. She served voluntarily for many years as Zonta International's diligent Parliamentarian. We had an online board meeting the week before and Alice told us, how happy she was that she recovered from her health issues. She actually was so agil, made jokes and looked great. So more the entire International Board was shocked when we received the sad news. It is still unbelievable for us.
The entire Zonta world is mourning about this sad loss.
We are thinking of you, dear Paul and of Alices's relatives.
May Alice rest in peace.
In quiet grief
Ute

Alice's death was so sudden - not anticipated at all. We were friends for several years, knowing her through the Oregon Association of Parliamentarians (OAP). We would travel together, sharing a room. I would have been her roommate at the recent Nat'l Assoc. of Parliamentarian Convention. It was very hard to see the bed next to mine - empty..... She was a vital, vivacious person and will be missed tremondously. Love you, Alice....
