Mandy was such a wonderful person. I was lucky to call her a friend in high school and regret I haven't had a chance to meet all of you. She was such a funny, sweet girl then and touched lots of people. I know how you must miss her. Your family is in all of our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Derek, Miles and Kyle, Mr and Mrs. Parrish
Amanda and I worked together in New Orleans and Orlando. We had so many laughs over the years about dumb stuff at work. Amanda was a big inspiration for me - an angel. She was the happiest mother I have ever seen. I feel truly blessed to have known her.

I'm so very sorry to hear this sad news. Mandy was such a delight while in high school. She was a cheer leader when I sponsored the squad in 1984 at R.H. Watkins High School. She was always so happy. She kept me laughing at many a ballgame. She will be missed severely but she'll always be in my heart.
God, please comfort this precious family.

I am so sorry to hear about Mandy. I have not seen her since I graduated from Watkins in 1983, but I can still see that big bright smile of hers. I pray that you will find comfort in knowing that she is with the Lord.

Jim and Dot,
There are no words that express the sorrow of losing a child, I can only say that I love you and how very sad it is to us all to lose our Mandy. Mandy has been a ray of sunshine since the day she was born and her sweet, happy face is what I see when I think of her. I have wonderful memories of trips to Colorado with all of us stuffed in a station wagon and hearing that precious little girl singing songs in the back seat and inevitably throwing up. She was adorable then and will always be. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Greg, Tammy, Derek, Kyle, and Miles. Her beauty will always be with us.

All my love, Mary E. Long-Marshall

Dot,

My heart is with you in the loss of your precious Mandy. Sue talked about Mandy in Sunday School this morning and read the devotion from My Utmost for His Highest. I know that Mandy truly poured herself out for God and her family and touched so many lives in the process -- even those of a dozen or so women in Sunday School this morning, some of whom had never even met her. I love you and miss you. Melinda

Parrish Family
I was compelled to check the obituaries on Wed., which I never do, when I saw Mandy's name. I have not seen her in 15 years. She and I were best friends at USM in the late 80's. She carried me to the hospital one night after I burned my hand from defrosting one of those old freezers. She also paid for that ER visit till I could get some money from home. We were inseperatable for 2 years. Im so sorry that I did not know what she or your family has been dealing with. But it sounds as if God was truley her anchor. I'm so glad to know that she was very involved with her church. The 2 of us had some great times in H'burg. Mandy was always so bubbly and just full of life all the time. Even though its been a long time since we saw each other, I still feel a deep since of lose. Please know that you and your family have been heavy on my heart and mind
and covered with my prayers. May God give you a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Dear Brown & Parrish Families:
I got to know Amanda very well while she worked at Ramsay Health Care in New Orleans. She was so full of life, love and fun. In fact when I found out I was having a baby girl, we decided to name her Amanda. She loved the bragging rights that she was my inspiration. I only hope that my daughter (now 13) can grow-up to be a fraction of the woman she was.
For Amanda's 30th B'day, we flew to Orlando to celebrate. Amanda was our tour guide and brought us to the best restaurants and attractions in town. We called her the "roller-coaster" queen because she was able to tolerate all the roller-coasters over & over again as we got sick. I will forever treasure those memories and the numerous ones we made in New Orleans (especially Mardi Gras in her 500 sq. ft. apartment).
My thoughts and prayers will forever be with you and her spirit, love and enthusiasm for life will forever live in the boys.
Love - Julie Froeba Riedl

The Brown Family-Derek, Miles and Kyle, I wish to express my sympathy for your loss. I pray you will look to her blessed memory to give you strength.
Know this- Her positive energy is as powerful in heaven as it is on earth. I'm sure you don't remember me but Miles and my son, Grant, were classmates at All Saints in 1999-2000. We spent time together at Miles birthday party. Amanda had just returned from a treatment in Houston a few weeks earlier and was already back in true form, full of positive energy and glowing as she celebrated Miles' birthday. While I have thought about Amanda, I haven't seen or talked to her in 8 years. Tuesday I had an overwhelming feeling to contact her. The last couple of days, in spite of the choatic noise of life, the feeling continued to come back to me. I finally sat down today and googled her name. I was desparatly heart broken to see she had passed on. I believe with all my heart it was Amanda that inspired me to seek her out at this time. I'm not yet sure of the reason except to let me know she was now home.
Amanda was a warm, loving and inspiring person. She will be missed.

Dear Brown and Parrish families,
Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, as you have been during Mandy's illness. Remember that God promises to go with us through our trials and tribulations (Is 43). Mandy was a brave woman of faith. No doubt her Lord knew her by name. She has now been miraculously healed and is truly now "living the good life" that we all desire to one day enjoy with her!
