I never met Scott, but considered him a friend. We coordinated the care of several patients. Scott through Genex and myself, through the surgeons I work with. I always looked forward to hearing from Scott. His quirky sense of humor and positive outlook made coordinating sometimes grumpy patients fun. I had no doubt when I heard of his passing that he was greatly loved. If his passing could make my heart sink - I couldn't imagine how difficult it must be for those who knew him well. You can't be that wonderful of a person without impacting others. Reading the tributes posted, I feel the loss all over again and my heart breaks for those family and friends hurting in his absence. I wish there were some words of comfort that would help, but the best I can do is tell those that loved him that you remain in my thoughts and prayers. Scott was one of a kind and I strongly suspect that he will continue looking out for you, his family (and by family, I mean blood relatives, soul relatives, work family, the whole gaggle of you out there), from his new digs in Heaven.

I remember a young 20 year old just being hired as a scrub technician at Florida Hospital. I was his Clinical Instructor. He was such a pleasant, gracious and lovable person, and talented scrub technician. I was so pleased to learn that he had gone on to school to attain his RN. He will be remembered, and deeply missed. My condolences go to the family and close friends.
